The nationwide search America’s Greenest School, sponsored by IC Bus, invites students and teachers to explain what their school has done to go green. The winning student will be awarded a plug-in hybrid bus for his or her school.

Are you the green hero around your office? Or would you like to be?
Most workplaces could benefit from a few green tips, whether it’s more recycling, switching Styrofoam cups for reusable mugs or scoring a day off for carpooling. But sometimes worker bees and bosses alike just need a little inspiration (after all, no one really wants to screw the environment). That’s why the folks over at Small Business Trends have launched a contest:

Over the years there has been quite a bit of debate about whether houseplants really can filter indoor air by removing toxins and particles. An early and often repeated study showed very promising results — in space. NASA tests in a spacecraft packed with plants showed markedly better air. But proving that plants are efficient filters in real world, terrestrial situations hasn’t been so easy.
